PB knockoff Easter Decor

Good Morning!

Been too long since my last post!!  Life sometimes gets in the way of my best intentions.  So I am back in the blogging mood and thought I would share my version of Pottery Barn's gorgeous Easter Tablescape.

Very lovely display via Pottery Barn

Love this all white, but as usual waaaay beyond what I am willing to spend. Their cost - over $200, my cost $21.73.  Gotta love saving money.

So I saw this The DIY Showoff PB easter post and decided to attempt this little project myself.

First up was a shopping trip for eggs, ribbon, paint, cherry blossom bushes, and 2 bunny figurines.  Found everything I needed at Micheal's for $19.73 with the exception of the bunnies.  Not sure what I was going to do since the bunnies are a pretty significant part of this display, but have no fear.....  abundant garage sales awaited me in a mere few days.

I started with painting 11 paper mache eggs white.

Painted eggs, floral pins and ribbon

Not the neatest painter in the family.  I color outside the lines too!

After the paint dried, I took a Sharpie Marker and wrote out HAPPY  EASTER in squiggly letters.

After searching for the appropriate sized bunnies for this project, I had just about given up finding them when I happened upon a garage sale.  I had originally purchase a glass dome cheese tray {yes - we all know what I am going to do with it  ;-)} when I spied these beauties hiding under the shrub by the driveway.  These were the exact size I was looking for!  I asked where they had been purchased only to find out they were a gift from her sister.  I was just turning to leave when I heard "If you really like them, I'll let them go for $2"  I couldn't get the money out of my wallet fast enough!  S C O R E!  That brings total spent on project to $21.73

Here's how they looked after a nice long soak and scrub down.  Quite cute as they are, but I had plans...

First round of white glossy spray paint.  Followed by several more.  Sorry about the photo, my camera is not working well lately.  After finishing the paint, I secured the ribbon to the eggs and tied to the cherry blossoms in my green pitcher. (no photos of the ribbon securing - again camera issues)

Final finished project!  Just looove it!  Looks better in person than this photo.  I think I see a new camera in my future very soon.  Thanks for stopping by.
